The Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Communications and Technology and the State Minister of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Somaliland have jointly signed a (MoU).

The Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Communications and Technology and the State Minister of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Somaliland have jointly signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding the “Technology Skills Enhancement Program for Secondary School Students in Somaliland.”

The purpose of this program is to enhance the technological knowledge of youth graduating from secondary schools, as technology has become one of the key pillars in driving economic development and youth employment.

Based on this objective, the two ministries officially launched the program today, July 22, 2025. The first phase of this program will benefit the first 100 students, who will be trained in basic technological skills that can help them gaining employment.

The training will be delivered by the Somaliland Innovation Zone (SIZ), an initiative implemented by the Ministry of Communications and Technology.

Ultimately, the long-term goal of this program is to equip young people with modern ICT skills that can enable them to compete and work in global job markets.
